Welcome to the world-famous ‘Dragon Dune’ – the biggest and longest sandboard ride in South Africa. Situated on private land, this ‘beast’ provides the ultimate ride on sand, similar to snowboarding. We cater for everyone, corporates, oil sheikhs, beach-bums, school groups, skiers, teambuilding, tour operators and everyone in between.
Although it’s the biggest dune in South Africa, the focus is on having FUN! We cater for all age groups, beginners and Pro’s. If you don’t feel confident enough to stand up on your board, you can also sit down or enjoy a belly board ride.

Scared of heights or don’t feel ready for ‘Big Daddy’… built confidence on a smaller version of the Dragon with spectacular views over the ocean with regular sightings of dolphins and whales.

Dragon Dune is 170 metres high and provides rides of up to 350 metres long, which overwhelms all competition in South Africa! Maximum speeds of 90km/h have been reached on a belly board!

The duration of the trip is 3 HOURS and bookings must be made a day in advance. All gear are provided. We usually focus on morning sessions but afternoon trips can be arranged.
Dragon Dune is privately owned which means the general public don’t have access to it. The property is also well maintained and litter-free, so riders are able to reach maximum speeds on smooth slopes where footprints don’t exist.

Dragon Dune is a short drive outside of Mossel Bay but all tours meet at the Mossel Bay ENGEN 1 STOP petrol station, 10 minutes past Mossel Bay on the N2 in the direction towards Cape Town.
We do pickups for backpackers that don’t have transport and drop-off around 12H30, R200 per person… BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL.
